My Lightbulb Moment

Romans 8:28 (ESV) ~ And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

   Man, I had a lightbulb moment today! You know, those moments where everything clicks and makes perfect sense?! It was awesome! 🙂

   While visiting my parents, my Daddy shared a memory with me..one that he and my Momma both remembered. He told me about something I did when I was only about 5 years old. What he shared with me confirmed to me  what God had been preparing me for my whole life! It is what He has me doing right now! 

   While at Reed Bingham for a church gathering, Daddy asked me if I would like to pray before they got started. He said that I said yes and just began praying without even thinking twice. He said that it was a mature prayer and just seemed to come natural for me. Wow, ding! ding! ding! Bells went off and lightbulbs switched on! (well..not real bells and lights..but you know what I mean 🙂 )

   I see now that God was preparing a 5 year old girl, and He is continuing now to prepare me for what He has planned! This is so exciting to me!

   So many years that I didn’t know what my purpose was, but God did! He has it ALL planned out..every situation I have been in..good and bad.. has been for such a time as NOW! Not when Heather wanted to know what that calling was…but when God chose to reveal it to me, when HE knew I was ready and prepared for it.

    I can remember feeling so inadequate, like I couldn’t make a difference. I was measuring myself up to what others were doing, not seeing that everything I was doing was preparing me for my calling..for now!

   God made ME for a purpose, just like He made YOU for a purpose! Our purpose is to spread the Truth about Jesus, spread the Gospel and glorify HIM in all that we do & say. Now, the way He made us is different, each of us unique. This means that my calling may be different than yours..but they all serve the same purpose! 🙂 As long as you are doing it for His glory, not your own.

   I am so excited about working for JESUS!!! I am so thankful and humbled that He would choose me, an imperfect woman, to spread the message of Truth and Love…to tell others that Jesus loves them..imperfections and all! If you read the scriptures you will see that Jesus used imperfect people a lot! (Paul and David just to name two)

   Thank you for letting me share my AHAH or LIGHTBULB MOMENT with  you! My hope is that you will see that God has a PURPOSE and a PLAN for your life too! Step out in faith….you won’t be disappointed!
