Hope For The Broken

Simple Truths Blog

Philippians 4:12-14 ~ Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own, but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.

Forgetting what lies behind… What does that mean to you? What do you think of?

We get an awesome..AWESOME gift when we let go and let God! We get an even better gift from God when we let go of our past mistakes and regrets..accept HIS forgiveness of our mistakes(sins)..and let them go!

As an authentic believer in Christ Jesus, you are totally and completely forgiven. Jesus paid the price and because you believe in Him and have truly repented, your sins and past mistakes are gone..FORGIVEN by  Jesus!!!

Feeling remorse and apologizing are healthy and necessary steps in “forgetting what lies behind.”  You have to go on to the next step though…moving on and making progress. Otherwise, you are not really forgetting what lies behind.

My Savior forgives and forgets…I want to be more like Him. That is THE goal that I now strive towards…to be more like Jesus. (that is what Christian really means..to be a follower of Christ..to be like Christ Jesus)

Just something to ponder.  What do you need to let go of? Jesus wants you to be free from the bondage..if you are held captive to anything that is keeping you from giving your complete devotion to Him and surrendering to Him alone, then you can’t be free to give your ALL to HIM. Let’s be clear here..I am referring to unforgiveness, repentance of wrongdoings, and also not being able to stop bringing past mistakes up to yourself or others (possibly even constantly reminding yourself or others of your victim status). We all have been there in some way..but there is a way out, a choice to change.

My hope is that you all will find freedom in Jesus! He IS the ONLY WAY! 🙂 I can’t help but smile when writing this…

Blessings to every single one of you! There is freedom in letting go and moving forward.
